Mr. Wuf’s Travels: Day 8

Road Trip! Today we decided to take a little road trip and drive all the way across Vermont and head to the King Arthur Flour company. It is a huge baking company with everything baking you can think of. They even had a big King’s chair which I climbed in for a picture and a huge sword in a stone that I tried to remove.

The trip was long but a lot of fun and we found interesting things on the other side of Vermont! Here is their website if any of you are big time bakers King Arthur Flour

And don’t forget, tomorrow is GAME DAY! Go Pack!

Mr. Wuf’s Travels: Day 7

Today was full of skiing! We headed to Whiteface Mountain where the downhill portions of the Olympics was held and what a great day it was. With the lack of winter so far only less than half the mountain was open, and the snow was thin, but since it has been snowing lately and cold so they could make snow the conditions weren’t too bad.

After a day of skiing we went back home, rested up, got some dinner, then headed to WiseGuys, a local sports bar to see my Pack take on the Pirates, and to catch the Hurricanes hockey game as well. The worst part about watching the Hurricanes game up here was they were playing the Sabres and they are one of the favorites for the locals. Luckily most of the fans there were watching the Rutgers bowl game and left us alone.

My boys had me a little nervous through out the game as they didn’t seem to be playing like the Pack we had come accustomed to watching. Lots and lots of turnovers was almost the downfall again. But thankfully Jeff has started the post game blog and will be finishing it tomorrow.

Mr. Wuf’s Travels: Day 6

I know I didn’t post yesterday but that was because we didn’t do anything. Today however is a different story! The snow continued to fall most of the day and the temperature never got above 25 or so which means the snow that fell, stayed!

This afternoon I finally got some of the Olympic experience, the Biathlon! We went to Verizon Sports Complex here in Lake Placid where the athletes competed during the ‘80 Olympics and got to shoot on the same range they did. Biathlon is a Winter Sport where skiers ski to a range, take 5 shots with a 22 caliber rifle from 50 meters, then ski some more to another range for 5 more shots before skiing to the end. For every miss the skiers either ski penalty loops or add time to their overall time.

Don’t worry, I did get a couple of pictures of me at the range and will be posting them soon. Tomorrow I will be venturing over to Whiteface Mountain to tackle the slopes that the Olympians once raced down. Even though Chris is an experienced skier this will be my first time to the slopes.

And don’t forget, the Pack take on the Pirates of East Carolina tonight at 7 in the RBC Center!

Go Pack!
