Tragic News

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Skip Prosser at the Wake GameI am sure by now most everybody has heard about the terrible news of the death of Wake Forest basketball coach Skip Prosser. We here at Pack on the Prowl want to send out our prayers and condolences out to his family. It is a huge loss for the family, Wake Forest University, and ACC basketball. It is so easy to get caught up in the heat of competition of ACC basketball but a tragic event like this helps us to remember that it is only a game.

Fore Right!!!

Last week golf legend Arnold Palmer was on NC State’s Centennial Campus for the groundbreaking of NCSU new golf course. The new course is designed by the Palmer’s company and will have NCSU alumni Erik Larsen and Brandon Johnson closely involved. The 7,025 yard par 71 layout will have nice views of downtown Raleigh and will be the home of the Wolfpack golf programs. There will also be classrooms and labs for various NCSU majors that require this type of facility. Gopack.com has a nice article about the first tee shot, hit by Arnold Palmer of course.

Pack on the Prowl made a special visit to the site of the Lonnie Poole Golf Course today. Thanks for the 3 million dollar donation Mr. Poole. There is already lots of land cleared and a map to show where the holes will be. As an avid golfer, I am very excited about this project. The course will be open to public and I can’t wait to make my first tee time.
