After being cut in early June, the rising junior left hander got the call many only dream about, Team USA wants your services. Surkamp is slated to pitch Sunday in Cary against the Netherlands. If you are interested in heading out to the 11am game, here are directions to the stadium. As of now, the ticket prices are listed as TBA.

It was announced earlier today that Anthony Hill would miss the entire 2007 season. Hill went in for a diagnostic procedure this morning after twisting his knee a couple of weeks ago. The doctors then decided it would be in his best interest for complete knee reconstruction.

“This is a difficult loss for our football team and for Anthony personally,” said O’Brien. “But injuries are a part of the game so we need to try to look at the bright side. He still has a redshirt year so he should be able to have a successful rehabilitation period. The extra semesters will also help him achieve his goal of attaining his degree before pursuing what will hopefully be a long career in the NFL.”
