Pack Rolls Past Seahawks

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

The NC State basketball team beat UNC-Wilmington on Saturday afternoon 72-51 to get its ninth win of the season. The Wolfpack (9-4) had a much better outing this afternoon than the last one which was a sloppy win over the Pirates. Early on there was not a good flow to the game and points were hard to come by on both sides. However, Brandon Costner had a career day and it started early. Before long he was in double figures and the Seahawks were down. The Pack took a 33-25 lead into the break with Costner having 18 points and 10 rebounds. That is right, a double double at half time! The second half started the way the first half ended, Brandon Costner hitting shots. He had a VERY nice night finishing with 27 points and 19 rebounds. The other major offensive force this afternoon was Ben McCauley who added 19 points.

Mr. Wuf’s Travels: Day 8

Road Trip! Today we decided to take a little road trip and drive all the way across Vermont and head to the King Arthur Flour company. It is a huge baking company with everything baking you can think of. They even had a big King’s chair which I climbed in for a picture and a huge sword in a stone that I tried to remove.

The trip was long but a lot of fun and we found interesting things on the other side of Vermont! Here is their website if any of you are big time bakers King Arthur Flour

And don’t forget, tomorrow is GAME DAY! Go Pack!

Mr. Wuf’s Travels: Day 7

Today was full of skiing! We headed to Whiteface Mountain where the downhill portions of the Olympics was held and what a great day it was. With the lack of winter so far only less than half the mountain was open, and the snow was thin, but since it has been snowing lately and cold so they could make snow the conditions weren’t too bad.

After a day of skiing we went back home, rested up, got some dinner, then headed to WiseGuys, a local sports bar to see my Pack take on the Pirates, and to catch the Hurricanes hockey game as well. The worst part about watching the Hurricanes game up here was they were playing the Sabres and they are one of the favorites for the locals. Luckily most of the fans there were watching the Rutgers bowl game and left us alone.

My boys had me a little nervous through out the game as they didn’t seem to be playing like the Pack we had come accustomed to watching. Lots and lots of turnovers was almost the downfall again. But thankfully Jeff has started the post game blog and will be finishing it tomorrow.
