You heard it here first!
I’ve been called a lot of things in my life, some I can repeat, some I can’t. But you are about to call me crazy, stupid, insane, and probably a lot worse that I honestly don’t want to hear. What is the big announcement? What am I about to say that will change the way you think of me? NC State will beat UNC-CH in basketball atleast once this year! Yes you did hear that correctly. I predict NC State to beat those stuck up baby blues from the school to the northwest that isn’t really all that worthy of being mentioned again.
WHAT? That is what you are thinking right? HOW? See I can read your mind. Let me tell you why NC State will win. The head coach. That is the reason. That is the only reason. Sidney Lowe will have our men so ready for that game, if you were in the locker room with them, you’d think it was the National Championship game. In the first 3 regular season this year I’ve noticed something different about this team. Not only that there is no Cedric Simmions dominating in the paint, or Andrew Brackman throwing baseball passes down court, but these guys have heart, they are having fun. I am almost positive that I even saw one of them crack a smile. Holy crap, I don’t know if I know how to take that, why is he smiling on the court? Is he having fun? Why did Big Ben McCauley just let out a big scream. Why did Brandon Costner start clapping? Why did Gavin Grant push the pace and ignite the RBC Center with a massive dunk. I think this team is playing with Pride, with Heart and with Emotion.
Pride, Heart, Emotion…Something that was missing from a lot of the previous players. Something that was even missing from these same players we saw a year ago. Sidney has these guys believing in themselves. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t see us running the table and pulling a ‘73 or even a ‘74 team which had 1 loss between them.(Should have been 2 but ‘73 was on probation…long story). The NCAA tourny will be in our future, maybe my wishful thinking since I have the Pack winning the total Prize year in and year out.
Basically I look for this team to surprise a lot of people, and turn heads. NC State will beat Chapel Hill, and they will win a lot of games they aren’t suppose to.
