Keep Chuck
I have been silent on this blog long enough so here we go with my first entry and what a surprise it is about NCSU! It is no secret that NC State football has had a tough year. Two early losses to lesser competition cause a quarterback change to the former walk-on and Wolfpack legacy Daniel Evans. After two thrilling ACC victories over BC and FSU the Wolfpack was rolling once again. We were even in the race for the Atlantic division title but then things fell apart. Lots of close games ended in 6 straight losses with one game remaining against ectc on Saturday. There are lots of people calling for head coach Chuck Amato to be removed as head coach but I am on the side of Chuck Amato. As head coach at NC State Amato has done so many good things for the program. Just look at Carter Finley Stadium with the Murphy Center, Vaughn Towers, and the new North End Zone and remember the grass hill, old press box, and old field house. Look at all of our players that have gone on to play and star in the NFL, can anyone say Philip Rivers or Mario Williams. We have also been elevated in the national picture and the recruiting has greatly improved. We also had one of our better years ever in 2002-2003 and capped it of with a Gator Bowl victory over Notre Dame. With all of this being said a 3-8 record is unacceptable. But with all that Chuck as given back to the university it would be silly to turn on him now. Lets keep Chuck, beat ectc, enjoy watching Sidney Lowe coach the basketball team, and hope that Justin Burke is the answer at QB.
I was going to talk about some NC State basketball now, but Chris hit the nail on the head! I think we are having more fun and showing more emotion on the court this year. So far I have been happy with the performance and looking forward to surprising a lot of people this year.
I would also like to point that the NCSU fans are so passionate about the Wolfpack that they managed to crash Statefansnation.com! Check out the message boards for the full story. Also there is speculation on various message boards and blogs that Chuck is gone. Check the links page to find links to some of these websites.
