Injuries continue to bother Pack

Well, Coach O’Brien has announced the Pack has had 8 knee surgeries this season, and Coach Lowe has a couple that are also fighting the injury bug.

“I didn’t have eight knee surgeries in the last three years (coaching) at Boston College,” O’Brien said Wednesday.

NC State’s backcourt took another hit last weekend when likely point guard backup Javier Gonzalez had surgery to repair his right thumb (his shooting hand) that he injured in workouts last week. The injury will require surgery and will keep the freshman out for the next three months.

Earlier in the preseason, the Wolfpack lost 6-foot-5 forward/guard Johnny Thomas for the season to knee surgery.

Let’s hope the injury bug is passing from Raleigh. We can’t afford much more to either team. Unfortunately for basketball it comes at our position where we are the thinest. We have 1 point guard until December when Marques Johnson is able to play since transferring, so Farnold please stay healthy!

In football we are just struggling all around. I have been impressed with the way Stone has stepped in and played in the absence of Anthony Hill, Andre Brown will do fine as a starting HB which is where I believe he should be. The O-Line will miss McCuller and Hickson should do fine at FB.

The rest of the season’s will be interesting that’s for sure. If the Pack can stay healthy look for improvement but if we can’t stay healthy it could be another long season for Pack fans.
