It’s a new season
I know it’s been said alot, tournament time is like starting over. Every team is 0-0 and a 4 game winning streak could take you to the NCAA’s. As a matter of fact, there is no room for error now, it’s do or die. Win or go home. With State on an 8 game losing streak it doesn’t look good, or does it? We have 4 wins this season, in case you were in a hole or under a rock and didn’t know, but 2 of those wins come against the 2 teams we could face in the first 2 games of the tournament. Sure this season left for a lot to be desired, went from a preseason 3rd to dead last in the conference. But, this team has what it takes, they have the players with the talent, they have the coach that knows what it takes to bring home the championships, and they have the heart. With the team going to Charlotte, look for the surprises. Look for this team to come together, play they way we all expected them to all season, and turn a few heads in the process. I would love to say we will bring home the tournament championship, but that would require us to go through possibly 2 top 10 teams. But, I’ve seen crazier, I saw our women give Duke their first lose of the season last year in the Tournament, I rushed the court last year when we were major underdogs to unc-ch at home. I’ve seen the replays of the Miracle on Ice from the ‘80 Olympics, and I watched the WRAL Special on the ‘83 National Champions. Therefor friends, I urge you to believe, and put away the razors gentlemen for the inaugural March Madness Championship Beard! It worked with the Hurricane’s in ‘06, and I expect it to work in ‘08 with the Wolfpack! The rules are simple, don’t shave until the post-season is over and that means for sure we don’t shave until Sunday to make sure we aren’t going to one of the 3 tournaments there is now!
